Wagamama: A Memoir

Living in Tokyo, a city where the nearest synagogue was a 3 hour walk from home,  Liane has had her fare share of challenges. Offering a deep peep inside Tokyo family life over 30 years of crazy and wild transformations, Jewish choices in a staunchly Buddhist Shinto family, lead to where Liane is now: in Jerusalem, at home, feeling blessed as a new Israeli citizen with her two children.

Offering marital debate, a fresh perspective on the struggles of a foreign wife in Japanese society, the struggle our  Japanese educated children faced as observant Jews, along with the wisdom of the Tao and Torah, Wagamama describes what it means to be a soul-seeker, and Jewish to boot, in the parallel universe of Japan.
